Sinaloa Lake was originally called Robertson or Sinaloa Lake or Sinaloa Reservoir after the original ranch owners Tom and Dorothy Robertson. In 2000, the lake was rebuilt and the Department of Fish and Game, Department of Dams and the Army Corps of Engineers have been overseeing the development of the lake and continue to monitor the progress.
