Sutter’s Mill Steakhouse
Sutter’s Mill Steakhouse was founded by Jerry and Lee Woods in 1958 on the corner of Foothill and Sayre in Sylmar, California. It was in 1960 that Sutter’s Mill moved to Mission Hills.
A night club and two more restaurants were added to the property over a period of 20 years. Founded in 1999, the current location for Sutter’s Mill Steakhouse in Simi Valley was opened in 2007 by the founders, Joe and Salli, the son and daughter-in-law of the founders.
Despite the fact that Joe and Salli are still active, their daughter-in-law, Marie Robinson, manages the day-to-day operations at Sutter’s Mill Steakhouse. As a team, we are committed to preserving the legacy of our founders, allowing us to grow into new locations in the future, so that we may extend our 63-year history by growing into new locations.

“We always drive Sutter’s Mill Steakhouse and decided to give Sutter Mill a try. The interior resembles a time capsule from possibly the prohibition era. We were seated in the back area and the room seemed so private. It was nice to enjoy a really great dinner with my husband in such an intimate setting. The food was good and the service was excellent.”
